Group Baby Massage Sessions
Join our group baby massage sessions at the Fairhill Centre in Ballymena, where you can connect with other parents and strengthen social bonds. Our sessions provide a supportive environment where you can share experiences, learn baby massage techniques, and enhance your baby's development together. It's a wonderful opportunity to build a community, support each other, and create lasting friendships while nurturing your little one's physical and emotional well-being.
1:1 Baby Massage Sessions
At WayMaker, our specialists bring extensive knowledge of therapeutic work and primitive reflexes. We have developed a unique baby massage programme that teaches the basics of baby massage, alongside the essentials of primitive reflexes and their importance for development.
This programme is particularly beneficial for babies who have experienced a traumatic or assisted delivery, including caesarean section, as these experiences can affect reflex integration and overall development.
Baby Massage for Babies in Care
We also offer 1:1 baby massage sessions for babies in care, providing them with the same developmental benefits and emotional support. Thanks to The Lottery Community Fund we are excited to launch a pilot project being able to facilitate 1:1 sessions for babies in care or with traumatic birth. You can begin baby massage at any age, although some parents prefer to wait until their baby is six weeks old. Feel free to feed or change your baby during the session. We have a kettle but not a microwave. If your baby is sleepy, we provide a practice doll, or you can simply watch. We also provide handouts for you to use at home.

Primitive reflexes are the automatic movement patterns all babies exhibit, which aid in their development. These reflexes begin in the womb, assisting with movements like kicking, birthing, finding food, rolling, crawling, and eventually walking. Retained primitive reflexes can lead to challenges with emotional control, vision, hearing, reading, writing, and concentration.
