INTEGRATION

Harnessing the healing power of movement

Unlocking Potential Through Movement

Movement is fundamental to a child's development and well-being. Our Reflex Integration therapy harnesses the power of rhythmic and targeted movements to help children and young people overcome physical, emotional, and behavioural challenges.

What is Reflex Integration?

Rewire the Brain and Body

Reflex Integration is a therapeutic approach that reactivates and integrates primitive reflexes—those automatic movements infants make as part of early development. These reflexes, if not fully integrated, can cause difficulties in motor skills, emotional regulation, focus, and learning. Through guided rhythmic movements and exercises, Reflex Integration helps to rewire the brain and body, promoting better coordination, balance, and cognitive function.

Reflex Integration works by targeting the brain's original movement patterns, helping to establish stronger neural connections that improve physical and mental functions.

  • Every child is unique, and challenges may vary. Some common issues include:

    • Coordination problems

    • Language and speech delays

    • Reading and writing difficulties (dyslexia, dyspraxia)

    • Clumsiness

    • Sensory sensitivities

    • Anxiety

    • Noise sensitivity

    • Poor bladder control

    • Fidgeting and concentration issues

    • Low muscle tone and muscle weakness

    • Chronic body aches and fatigue

  • Transform Challenges into Integration

Movements mimic innate activities to retrain the system and reset postural control foundations. This integration is crucial because:

    1. They form the basis of our nervous system and movement abilities.

    2. They originate in the brain stem, responsible for survival instincts.

    3. Unintegrated reflexes can trigger stress responses unnecessarily.

    4. They can lead to coordination challenges, affecting reading, writing, and concentration.

    5. They may contribute to low muscle tone, chronic body aches, and fatigue.

  • Retained Reflexes Can Hinder Development

As children grow, primitive reflexes should integrate, making way for more mature movement patterns and higher-level learning. When these reflexes do not integrate, they become retained, leading to various developmental challenges, including:

    • ADD/ADHD

    • Autism

    • Learning difficulties

    • Sensory disorders

    • Speech disorders

    • Hyperactivity

    • Social and emotional challenges
