Reflecting on One Year of Impact

Celebrating our First Anniversary at Fairhill House, Ballymena | Waymaker Child Therapy

Exciting news! It's our 1-year anniversary at our new premises, Fairhill House, in Ballymena! 🎉

At Waymaker Child Therapy, we're thrilled to celebrate this milestone and reflect on the incredible impact we've made in just one year. Our mission to rewrite the mental health narrative for children in Northern Ireland has been driven by our belief in the healing power of play. We have created a dedicated space designed specifically to support children during their play therapy sessions, providing a five star environment where they can flourish and heal through play.

One of our core principles is the belief that every child deserves access to vital support, regardless of their financial circumstances. In line with this belief, we have implemented an affordable pricing approach, breaking down barriers and ensuring that families can access the help they need without financial strain. Our goal is to make mental health support accessible to all, and we are proud to have taken tangible steps towards achieving this.

One important aspect of our journey at Fairhill House is the support and collaboration we've received from our wonderful landlords at the Fairhill Centre. We want to take this moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to them. Their partnership and generosity have made it possible for us to establish a nurturing and therapeutic five star environment for the children and families we serve. We are truly grateful for their ongoing support and belief in our mission.

In addition to our commitment to affordability, we have also launched 'Clothing with Cause' since our establishment in 2020. This initiative allows individuals to purchase clothes, with the proceeds directly funding play therapy for children. It's a win-win situation, where you can shop for stylish clothing while also making a meaningful impact on a child's life. Together, we are making a difference through every purchase.

Over the past year, we have supported countless children and families in their journey towards better mental health. The numbers speak for themselves: we have provided support to 207 families through a total of 1428 play therapy sessions. These numbers represent real lives touched and transformed, and we are immensely proud of the positive change we have brought about.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our funders who have supported us throughout this journey. Wesleyann Assurance, Comic Relief Empowering Change, The National Lottery Community Fund, Mid and East Antrim Council, Corby Knows Foundation, and Community Foundation Northern Ireland, your support has been instrumental in our ability to provide essential mental health services to those in need.

Looking ahead, we are excited to share that there are many more updates and developments on the horizon. Stay tuned as we continue to transform lives through the power of play. We are driven by our passion for helping children and families, and we are grateful to have you as part of our journey.

On this special occasion, we want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported us. Whether you've contributed financially, volunteered your time, or spread the word about our mission, you have played an invaluable role in our success. It is through the collective efforts of our team, supporters, and community that we can continue to make a lasting impact.

As we celebrate our 1-year anniversary at WayMaker Child Therapy headquarters in Ballymena, we are filled with a sense of accomplishment and excitement for what the future holds. With your continued support, we are confident that we can create a brighter, healthier future for the children of Northern Ireland.

Thank you for being a part of our journey. Together, let's continue to make a difference and rewrite the mental health narrative for children in our community. 🌟
