Unleash the Healing Power of Play: Join our Training Sessions Starting on 22nd June 2023 at Fairhill Centre in Ballymena
Are you a professional working with children and witnessing an increasing need for support in your setting? At WayMaker Child Therapy, we are passionate about sharing our knowledge of play to empower fellow children's professionals. We invite you to dive deep into the WHY behind play therapy and equip yourself with a toolbox of playful techniques through our innovative training sessions.
Our training is designed for a wide range of professionals, including teaching staff, social workers, health visitors, Sure Start practitioners, youth leaders, and anyone working with children. We understand that each professional and their setting is unique, which is why our training is tailored to address specific needs and challenges you may encounter.
Here's what you can expect from our training sessions:
A unique approach: Our training combines theory with creative activities, offering a fresh perspective on the transformative power of play. We believe that incorporating play into your practice can produce remarkable results in supporting children's well-being and development.
Understanding increasing needs: Through our sessions, we will explore why the needs of children are on the rise. By delving into this topic, you will gain valuable insights that can inform your approach when working with children facing various challenges.
Experiencing child-led play: during the training, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a child-led play approach and experience first-hand how it can foster connection, communication, and healing in the therapeutic process.
Practical play-based techniques: Our goal is to provide you with a toolkit of effective play-based techniques that you can implement immediately in your professional setting. These techniques are carefully selected to promote engagement, emotional regulation, and positive interactions with children.
Understanding play therapy: While our training does not qualify participants as play therapists, we will provide an overview of play therapy and guidance on when it may be appropriate to refer a child for specialised play therapy services.
Our training sessions will commence on 22nd June 2023, and we have limited spaces available with dates through the rest of this year including Saturday to suit teaching staff.
As a professional play therapist, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative nature of play in children's lives. Armed with extensive experience and a deep passion for my work, I embarked on a mission to share my professional knowledge with fellow practitioners. The innovative training program goes beyond the conventional understanding of play, unearthing its profound therapeutic capabilities and unveiling its potential to address complex emotional and psychological challenges faced by children.
Here's what one of our participants had to say about our training:
"I found this training excellent in understanding different ways to approach a child that goes into a meltdown. I found it very thought provoking to get into the mindset of children’s behaviour that I don’t understand.”
Join us on this transformative journey as we unlock the potential of play and make a lasting impact on the lives of the children we serve.
